Opificio Golinelli, the citadel for knowledge and culture has an extension of 9.000 square meters and it is one of the biggest experimental laboratory for a didactic aim in the field of sciences and technnology in Italy, and holds all the main activities of the Fondazione Golinelli. The building is located in Paolo Nanni Costa street, in the first suburs of Bologna, and has been realised after an intervention two years long. The total investment for the intervention has been about 12 million euro. The architectural project, designed by diverserighestudio, has recovered an abandoned industrial building, turning the project into an intervention of urban regeneration. Since 2000 the activities of Fondazione Golinelli has involved one million people, and the new spaces will be able to welcome more than 150.000 visitors every year that will be involved in the 6 national multiyear program: the School of Ideas, Science in Application, the Garden of companies, Teach to teach, Science in he square, Science and knowledge.
