The Area of intervention is located in the south-west part of Ferrara, closed to the town centre, between the ancient fortification system and the Po di Volano river. The urban design includes the former vegetable market now used as a city car park, the former Piangipane ex-prison, that is now the MEIS (National Museum of Italian Judaism and of the Holocaust), the San Paolo dock and the pattern connection between the central station, the town centre and the river. The target of the design is to implement the quality of the public spaces along the river, creating spaces for leisure time for both citizens and tourists, without new land use.
Municipality of Ferrara, MEIS Foundation and the Italian Demanio Agency have signed an official agreement to support the program
