The tenth edition of Urbanpromo Social Housing will take place in the Triennale di Milano’s Hall of Honor. The Triennale di Milano, founded in Monza in 1923 as the Biennale of decorative arts, has been based in Milan in the Palazzo dell’Arte since 1933, designed by Giovanni Muzio and built between the autumn of 1931 and spring of 1933. Conceived by the designer as an extremely flexible container, it represents an innovative multifunctional organism for the era in which it was designed. Born as an overview of modern decorative and industrial arts, with the aim of stimulating the relationship between industry, production sectors, applied arts, the Milan Triennale soon proved to be a mirror of the artistic and architectural culture in Italy and one of the major comparison between emerging trends. The Triennale di Milano is the Italian institution for architecture, decorative and visual arts, design, fashion and audio-visual production; it is a cultural production center that organizes conferences, film reviews, itinerant exhibitions and exhibitions.
