Iole Piscolla, Associazione Nazionale Città del Vino

The theme of the attractiveness of wine-growing territories has many facets.
On the one hand, the accessibility of the territory is an essential factor of socio-economic development, with obvious implications for the trade of wine products and their promotion. On the other hand, the theme must also be declined at local level, exploring the potential for development in varied situations where rural territories have very different historical, identity and landscape characteristics.
At a territorial level, these differences also determine different modes of development, in which some areas have well-known denominations and privileged positions (from Chianti Shire to Prosecco), while others are in inland areas, poorly accessible, in even difficult contexts (as in Alpine areas).
In order to enhance local attractiveness, the enhancement of the landscape, the networking of administrations and producers, and the involvement of local communities are fundamental.
The conference will present good practices and projects or activities aimed at bringing the theme of local attractiveness into tension, such as the Valdichiana Senese, the Colli Orientali del Friuli, the Valtellina, the Langhe Roero and Monferrato, Abruzzo and Apulia.
