Nhood, an international real estate services and consultancy company dedicated to urban regeneration, is one of the leading players in urban regeneration, understood as a combination of public interest and sustainable private investment aimed at creating new value on mixed-use assets.
Dropcity – Centro di Architettura e Design is an initiative by architect Andrea Caputo developed thanks to Grandi Stazioni Retail with Nhood as investor, developer and co-manager of 10,000 square metres on 28 tunnels along via Sammartini, in the Central Station area in Milan. By 2024, Dropcity will provide young architects and designers looking for suitable spaces for their professional needs in the city with workstations, exhibition spaces, production ateliers, carpentry, robotics and advanced prototyping workshops, a material library and a civic library.
Dropcity is a paradigmatic project of Nhood’s approach to urban regeneration: a synergy between public and private aimed at increasing the quality of life of citizens and improving the attractiveness of the area in which it operates, thus generating a triple positive impact – for People, Planet, Prosperity.
With an investment of 16 million euros and the signing of an agreement with the municipality together with GSR, Nhood will contribute to the redevelopment of an area that has been abandoned for years and to the creation of a new catalyst of potential and value in the fields of Architecture and Design, with an international calibre.
Dropcity is the second piece that Nhood puts to the urban regeneration of Milan after LOC-Loreto Open Community, the winning project of the C40 Reinventing Cities tender for the transformation of Piazzale Loreto and of which Nhood is investor and lead partner.
