In order to promote urban regeneration, the Metropolitan City of Bologna has implemented ambitious instruments of territorial and strategic planning and planning (PSM, PTM, PUMS). Moreover, with the approval of the PTM, the Metropolitan Equalisation Fund was established, an innovative instrument for territorial rebalancing, through which the Metropolitan City finances the Metropolitan Regeneration Programmes, made up of various interventions on the territory, to give real implementation to strategic forecasts and spatial planning and to contribute to the economic and social development of the most fragile areas.
The strategic objective of the 2023 Programme is the implementation of urban and territorial regeneration interventions on public areas or buildings that respond to the issues of energy autonomy, energy efficiency and reduction of energy poverty.
The Metropolitan City has also set up the Workshops for Metropolitan Regeneration (footprints), a tool that is proposed as a design support, training and advice to municipal technical offices.
