“Make the right house! Parma Abitare Sociale” is the Piano Casa of the Municipality of Parma, developed by the Housing Policies Sector, in which the objectives and implementation strategies for social housing at urban level are defined. Starting from the reflection and analysis of public and social housing supply, the overall vision of the development of objectives and strategies on the theme of social living in the city of Parma is developed, combining the themes with the “Parma Carbon Neutral 2030” Programme and planning of urban regeneration interventions.
It is a three-year programme integrated and linked to the other welfare and care policies of the city, aimed at building a new strategic vision to address the housing issue and is part of the “Social Pact for Parma”, which allows a medium-long term perspective capable of making systemic, lasting and flexible investment not only economic but above all political, administrative, social and cultural.

The “Make the right house!” programme works on two fronts:

  1. Provision of technical and administrative devices that allow to set up, coordinate and develop integrated policies of the living. These are the tools needed to promote medium-long term policies and give substance to the principle of “right to a home” as an element of a fair and cohesive city.
  2. Investment in structural measures to increase the provision of temporary and student housing. Total investment of € 174,803,380, of which € 9,291,065 for projects already completed (340 new or refurbished housing units); € 70,012,315 for projects currently underway (503 new or refurbished housing units and 148 beds); € 95,500,000 estimated for projects in the pipeline (650 new or refurbished dwellings).
