The project, chosen through an international design competition, predict to transform the ex-military area of via Guido Reni into the “Città della Scienza” (City of Science), with public spaces and services for the neighborhood and also a new district, that will be composed by housing (also subsidized housing), retail services and an hotel. The project creates a new permeability in the district through the realization of a new square and a sequence of public spaces, in continuity with the open space of the Maxxi. The project proposes an urban network perpendicular to via Guido Reni, characterized by typological and height variety, functional and social mixité and an articulated array of relationship’s spaces.
