The area of intervention is located in the suburban part of Roselle, characterised by a poor urban environment, lack of services, lack of housing possibilities, mobility dependent from cars, limited social cultural opportunities, specifical elements of degrade because of the ERP complex “Il Poggio” and the abandoned building of the Terme.
The project wants to solve the differences between centrality and marginality, giving an interpretation to the relation between places, increasing the offer and distribution of services through the realisation of an aggregation Centre that will be an urban node able to connect the cultural values of the suburbs with the centre of the city. This connection emerges also from the integration between the “Programma periferie” (Suburbs Program) and the “Programma sperimentale nazionale di mobilità sostenibile casa-scuola casa-lavoro” (Experimental national program of sustainable mobility house-school house-work, financed by the Ministero dell’Ambiente).
The expected results are:
- realisation of bike-pedestrian dedicated paths
- renovation of the ERP complex and demolition of the “ex Terme” building
- valorisation of the archaeological heritage with the realisation of an info point for the “Scavi di Roselle”
- realisation of several urban vegetable gardens
- recovery of several urban facilities
- integration of specific services of the social cooperatives
- development of a public lighting smart plan for energy saving and integrated performances
