The Metropolitan City has established the Workshops for Metropolitan Regeneration (ORMe), a tool that aims to provide design support, training and advice to municipal technical offices. Among the activities undertaken by the workshops is the coordination of various intervention programmes on the theme of urban regeneration, both with resources from the PNRR and with own resources of the metropolitan city.

Within the resources allocated by the PNRR, the Metropolitan City of Bologna has been awarded with the National Innovative Programme on the Quality of Living (PINQuA) the financing of about 45 million interventions, developed on the territory of three Unions of Municipalities between plain and Apennines.

In addition, the Metropolitan City is implementing the Integrated Urban Plan (PUI) “Metropolitan Network for Knowledge: the Greater Bologna”, which sees interventions for 157 million euros involving the municipalities of Bologna, Imola, Marzabotto, Camugnano, Castiglione dei Pepoli and San Benedetto Val di Sambro.

With the aim of providing a permanent financial instrument to finance urban and territorial regeneration, in addition, the Metropolitan Equalization Fund has been established, through which the Metropolitan City finances the Metropolitan Regeneration Programmes.
