The planning activities promoted by the ASI Consortium of Salerno are aimed at pursuing the overall regeneration of the industrial agglomerations of competence (Salerno, Cava de Tirreni, Battipaglia, Fisciano-Mercato San Severino), equipping them with infrastructure, the equipment and services necessary to pursue the qualification and exploitation of established and/or potential production activities and, more generally, of the socio-economic reference system, In accordance with the principle of sustainability and ensuring health, safety and environmental protection.
The strategic direction previously expressed, linked to renewed management models and increasingly aimed at the unified management of infrastructure and business support services, allows, overall, to pursue effectively the APEA model. Working on existing settlements, resulting from planning processes that are rather dated and often ignored, substantially saturated in the current configuration and affected by complex problems of settlement and infrastructure, It is quite clear that the EEPA represents a model for new settlement areas, to be pursued gradually and with an immediate implementation time (as far as possible), medium to long term in existing, settled and urbanised areas.
The Development Plans for the ASI agglomerations of Salerno assume, therefore, the model referred to, to be followed according to a “cluster approach” obviously calibrated in different ways, not only for planning and management of new settlements but also to pursue, In the longer term, the environmental qualification of existing settlement structure and regeneration of abandoned areas.
At the present time, the process of forming the Plans of Arrangement of the agglomerations of Salerno and Cava de Tirreni is in progress.
