In this session, Daniel Millor and Rosa Gallego will explore the impact of extreme weather events on urban planning and local communities, drawing on the experience of Valencia. From a social architecture perspective, Daniel will examine how urban design can be adapted to mitigate the effects of phenomena such as DANA, promoting more resilient and equitable environments. Rosa will highlight the crucial role of community foundations in disaster response and prevention, emphasizing how collective action and strong local ties can strengthen a community’s resilience.
