The media reports, from time to time, report facts that remind us that in Italy there are real slums in which, in unacceptable environmental and hygienic-sanitary conditions, people who have come to work in the fields live, taking on work particularly burdensome that we Italians are no longer willing to do. The exploitation of human labor, the use of illegal labor, abandonment in uncivilized housing situations, often connote the human condition of the immigrant farm worker.
