“Urbanpromo Progetti per il Paese – Social Housing” will be held in Milan from 17th to 20th November 2020.

I twill host a panel dedicated to the United Kingdom entitled “Redevelopment, community and social housing: the British model between villages and cities”. The United Kingdom will be the guest country this year and we will have the honor of the patronage of the British Embassy in Rome.

The history of British urbanization processes and housing policies, starting with the great attention paid to the most fragile groups already in Victorian times, and its evolution over almost two centuries, is of great interest in understanding approaches and challenges, relationships between housing systems, inclusion, heritage and urban regeneration

In light of the recent travel restrictions due to COVID 19, the event will maintain a flexible nature and will be held online if travel to Italy is not permitted.

Urbanpromo is the most important Italian event on the topics of urban regeneration and Social Housing – promoted by the National Institute of Urban Planning with URBIT, the main foundations of banking origin and the Cassa dei Depositi e Prestiti – held on an annual basis since 2004.

The participants are national and international experts from the academic world, institutional, traditional and impact investors, foundations, designers, public administrators, housing and urban regeneration project managers, and developers of social impact projects and technologies.

The 2020 edition coincides with the 90th anniversary of the National Institute of Urban Planning, a public body recognized by the Ministry of the Environment and member of the European Council of Town Planners, and offers seminars and conferences on topics such as the future of housing policies, forms of financing housing and regeneration projects, accessibility and sustainable mobility, the reactivation of urban spaces, and environmental sustainability.
