Camilla Cerrina Feroni, INU Toscana e Daniele Mazzotta, Regione Toscana

Ten years after the entry into force of Regional Law 65/2014 and the adoption of the regional landscape plan, the process of renewal and conformation of municipal planning involves about 98% of municipalities, recording a substantial increase in inter-municipal planning at both the structural and operational levels.

A fact that confirms the solidity and rootedness of the planning system in Tuscany, one of the most planned regions in the country, to which corresponds an enormous commitment, both in economic terms and in terms of dedicated human resources, on the part of the entire public sector involved: municipal and provincial administrations, the Region, and the Superintendencies.

The regional urban review is therefore an opportunity to take stock of the state of planning in Tuscany, of the tools put in place by the Region to monitor, simplify and facilitate the renewal process of the municipal urban instrumentation, drawing an initial balance and at the same time proposing a reflection on the possible actions to be taken to encourage further streamlining and simplification of the process, which would allow the municipalities to concentrate their efforts on planning strategies, respond more promptly to the many requests emerging from the cities and territories, making the planning system more effective.
