Iginio Rossi, INU – URBIT
With the aim of developing an area of discussion on the issues of universal accessibility and inclusion, the INU Community “Cities accessible to all” has launched a specific call in which numerous subjects have joined with proposals for actions, projects and research underway in Italy which have been grouped into: teaching for inclusion; training and dissemination; policies for inclusion; research and territories.
The cases collected concern learning, with attention to the individual and collective dimensions that affect the life, autonomy and freedom of people so that territories, cities and living improve and/or achieve being accessible to each and everyone but also more attractive.
Universal accessibility and inclusion are essential rights that concern all people, they constitute an interconnected, multiscalar, multidisciplinary and complex system; they must guarantee the qualities essential to meeting expectations/requests, and above all they cannot be addressed with sectoral and separate approaches or tools.
The meeting proposed by Urbanpromo will compare the most significant cases that will concern the promotion of cultural heritage, solutions to make cities more attractive, integrated actions to relaunch the territory to live, interventions to improve museum use and accessibility. It will also be an opportunity to indicate perspectives and directions that are more attentive to the rights of all to be developed in the Projects for the country.
