The genuine substance of “urban regeneration”, as a priority field of action of today’s town planning and management, deserves to be reaffirmed in its essential town and social contents, and at the same time defended against frequent distortions.

Any building or real estate investment project is in fact baptized by private promoters as an urban regeneration initiative, usurping that qualitative connotation that corresponds to a need of the contemporary city that is now universally recognised.
