The PINQuA proposal of Grosseto is characterized by a rigorous strategy in meeting the requirements of the Ministerial Decree, but also socially useful for the clarity of the objectives assumed by the Administration. An initiative that amounts to about 29.3 million euros of public-private investment, able to connect the periphery of Via De’ Barberi with the historic center, “inner periphery” marked by phenomena of depopulation and socio-economic poverty; a project that promotes urban innovation in the identity context of the city according to a design fil rouge that works on the two peripheries and joins them in a single area of intervention.

In “RIABITARE GROSSETO (INHABIT GROSSETO AGAIN) the way of identity and innovation” are thus evident:

  1. a reshaping and modernization of urban services, first of all in the city center, promoting new housing (especially for the new generations) and exchange of material and immaterial relations;
  2. a reshaping and modernization of urban services, first of all in the city center, promoting new housing (especially for the new generations) and exchange of material and immaterial relationships;

Five are the project themes of the area: the reuse of the Bastioni Fortezza and Cavallerizza for cultural purposes; the re-functionalization (also for social housing purposes) of the municipal real estate compendium of Via Saffi, the requalification of Piazza della Palma, the transformation of Via De’ Barberi into a city “greenway”; the recovery of the ruins of the homonymous Peep of Via De’ Barberi for social housing and supplementary services to living.

For the technical-economic feasibility and design coordination of PINQuA, the Municipality of Grosseto has formed a special internal task force and made use of the assistance of the engineering company EPSUS while, for the design of individual interventions, was supported by Ipostudio architects.

With the release of the ranking list last July, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility has mentioned the proposal of Grosseto among the 12 best at the national level for the quality of design.
