The ‘housing plans’ are the set of actions and strategies that municipal administrations put in place in their territories to address issues and criticalities related to the social dimension of housing.

The national framework is currently lacking in resources and programmes, so the historical tools and funding flows that fed the housing need in its various declinations must be rethought and updated.

Numerous small-medium sized municipalities in the Region of Tuscany are tackling the issue of social housing in relation to the local context’s demand framework and according to the available resources, with a view obviously limited to the area of competence.

The result is a mosaic of experiences which, although not coordinated or aligned according to shared procedures, constitute a precious heritage of experimentation.

The programme aims to show how some municipalities deal with the housing issue in their territory by using tools and resources that are ‘available’ from time to time: in this case, it is the PINQuA, presented as the ‘latest’ in programmes for social housing redevelopment in the territory.

The conference is intended to be a chapter in the agenda on urban planning and housing issues for the future INU Toscana management group that will be elected at the members’ meeting to be held at the end.
