On 31 August, the works funded through Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza – PNRR) were completed. These include the PINQuA programmes — the National Innovative Programmes for Housing Quality (Programmi Innovativi Nazionali per la Qualità dell’Abitare) — and the PUI — Integrated Urban Plans (Piani Urbani Integrati) — focused on the urban regeneration of peripheral areas in Italy’s Metropolitan Cities. As urban planning initiatives of strategic importance, these programmes have been followed by Urbanpromo from the early stages of their design and approval for NRRP funding.
Now that the deadline for their implementation has passed, Urbanpromo intends to showcase and highlight a selection of projects that the promoting local authorities have successfully completed. Through these experiences, Urbanpromo also aims to examine the challenges that emerged during implementation, their consequences and the ways in which they were addressed, as well as the innovative approaches adopted that could potentially be transferred to the ordinary management of complex programmes.
