The intervention provides for the construction of two lines of mobility that, together with the central part already realized, completes the framework of accessibility to the historic center. The project includes the landscape insertion of the works respecting the morphological and typological characters of the contexts in which it is located.
The first section is located in an area of recent construction, Via della Liberazione, and penetration to the historic center dating back to the early ’80s and the site where the lift is located consists of an artificial cliff consisting of topsoil, which over time has been greened by vegetation partly spontaneous and partly newly planted.
The project is part of this realization, proposing an overall requalification of the existing green area and realizing an artificial opening in the same cliff from which the elevator tower emerges. It is planned that the wall structures will be covered with Subasio stone and the works will be mitigated by planting shrubs and tall trees.
The Third Section, located upstream from the previous ones, is in dialogue with the substruction works of the Roman forum, therefore it has to dialogue with a site of high archaeological value. The new tower, which will connect the area of the schools with Piazza della Repubblica, is placed at a proper distance from the substructions and will be made of steel and glass to allow the maximum transparency and visibility of the Roman works.
This intervention will allow at the same time also the requalification of the facades of the school building that will be restored through works of renovation of superficial plasters, substitution of damaged fixtures, substitution of eaves channels and rainwater downpipes.
Along with the construction of the new mechanized routes, other minor works are planned to upgrade existing routes that are located around the main mechanized routes.
