The ‘UPhD Green’ conference is a forum for discussion and sharing dedicated to doctoral research addressing sustainability issues, with a particular focus on urban and regional planning, urban and architectural design, and the evaluation of policies, plans and projects. The aim is to promote innovative ideas and perspectives, encouraging dialogue on approaches, methodologies and tools for digital and socio-ecological transition, one of the most pressing challenges for the future of the country. The conference highlights the operational and practical role of doctoral research through the presentation of case studies and experimental experiences that highlight the synergy between scientific research, technical professions, public administrations and businesses.
Over the years, UPhD Green has established itself as an important opportunity for transdisciplinary dialogue between young researchers, helping to create connections and innovation processes based on the cross-fertilisation of knowledge and skills.
This year’s edition is dedicated to the presentation of original contributions by doctoral students and young researchers involved in projects funded under the PNRR, or who address its themes and implications. The aim is to stimulate an interdisciplinary discussion on the Plan’s strategies, promoting critical reflection on the impacts, opportunities and challenges it poses for scientific research.
The day is divided into four thematic sessions that bring together the contributions of the participants. Doctoral students will present their research through a 5-minute pitch accompanied by a poster summarising the main results. At the end of each session, there will be a “Poster Walk & Feedback” session, dedicated to discussion between participants, discussants and the audience, who will be able to discuss the research and leave comments or ideas on the posters on display. The format, which is fast-paced and inclusive, is designed to encourage interdisciplinary dialogue and the sharing of ideas between different fields of research.
