CDP Real Asset SGR S.p.A.

Filippo Catena, CDP Real Asset SGR S.p.A.

CDP Real Asset SGR S.p.A. (CDP RA) has been operating in the social housing sector for over 15 years, contributing to the promotion and implementation of initiatives aimed at expanding and improving the supply of affordable housing in response to the country’s growing needs.

CDP RA confirms its participation in Urbanpromo 2026, an edition placing social housing, urban transformations driven by new housing needs, and urban regeneration at its core. The company will present the main developments in its activities in the field of social infrastructure and showcase examples of projects that begin as “evolving” and “experiential” initiatives and, through the consolidation of “benchmarks” and “best practices”, progressively become “mature” and “established” models, serving as reference points for future developments.

In this context, CDP RA will present its main achievements and the expansion of its areas of intervention, from social housing to student housing, from senior housing to new solutions for workforce mobility.

A further perspective will focus on the evolution of investments in student housing, from the first experimental initiatives to the consolidation of a fully-fledged “asset class”, which is itself undergoing progressive development in terms of management models, the expansion of target users, and the range of services offered.

Another area of focus will be the evolution of the financial model for fund-of-funds structures, with the aim of progressively increasing the use of European resources alongside national funding sources, leveraging the involvement of European institutions, including the European Investment Fund and the guarantee instruments provided under the InvestEU Programme.

Social Housing Funds continue to serve as privileged observatories and laboratories for innovation, providing complementary and additional instruments to the market. They are capable of promoting accessible, sustainable housing that meets both established and emerging housing needs, while generating economic, social, and environmental impacts in the areas and communities in which they operate.
