InvestiRE, primary operator of social housing, manage sveral building funds that regards the territory of Lombardia Region. Inbetween all of those funds there is the Fondo Immobiliare di Lombardia – Comparto Uno (before: Fondo Abitare Sociale 1), the biggest investment fund for Social Housing in Italy.

One of the several inititatives of the Fondo, of particular interest, is the Campus Monneret, located in Monneret de Villard street n.1 in Milan, the new residence for students that from September 2015 offers modern and functional housing solutions, and also common spaces for studying and relaxing, focused on off-premises students. The project borned after a stimulating collaboration between InvestiE, Fondazione Housing Sociale, Gas Studio and the Municipality of Milan, with the aim of realising a new and efficent residential complex for students, to increment the number of housing places for the students coming from abroad to study in Milan, offering housing temporary solution with quality and an affordable price.

Another project realised inside FIL – Comparto Uno has been Il Borgo Sostenibile located in Figino, that offers a total of 321 apartments for renting with low charge price or with agreement of future selling, promoting the diffusion of an idea of sustainable and collaborative housing. What make this initiative unique is the particular kind of architectural project, which development has been assigned through an international competition of design between 4 architecture firms, that has declined in different ways the theme of building in his dimension of residential area. The typology of building  with internal courtyard has been important because the court let the creation of common spaces for the inhabitants, as a park, a promenade and a public square on which services and retail spaces are facing.

InvestiRE manages not only the FIL – Comparto Uno, but also the Fondo Social Housing Cascina Merlata for example, that is proposing one of the most relevant intiative of social housing in Italy, the residential complex titled Social Village Cascina Merlata, located in the North West part of the City of Milan, near the Gallaratese district. The complex, that has been designed also thanks to the contribution of Mario Cuccinella Architects, is composed by 7 towers for a total of 397 apartments, that will be offered for long term renting, with an agreement of future selling with the inhabitants, or for direct selling with low prices. Social Village Cascina Merlate is proposing an innovative housing model in which the residents, together with a Social Manager, are collaborating actively to share and keep active the common spaces.
