The Municipality of Spello has been participating in the debate on cities accessible to all promoted by the INU for a few years now, convinced of the need to “network”, also in terms of knowledge and exchange of experiences in order to be able to promote and implement increasingly effective urban policies for the accessibility and attractiveness of our cities.
From the Strategic Framework for the Enhancement of the Historic Centre came the projects for accessibility, attractiveness and hospitality with the aim of increasing the degree of liveability through the completion of the alternative mobility system and the improvement of the urban and peri-urban landscape of the historic centre but also of the neighbourhood areas.
With the advancement of the strategic instrument, a system of interventions has been designed to connect the system of parking facilities to the historic centre and the central square of the historic city. The realisation of the new apparatus would facilitate the flow of users in the historic centre by significantly limiting vehicle traffic in favour of an invaluable environmental quality and would allow accessibility to all* in the heart of the historic town.
