Giovinazzo is a small town in N-W of the Metropolitan city of Bari with a population of around 20,396. It is located 20 km from Bari and its coast stretches for 10.61 Km. The Municipal Administration of Giovinazzo after carrying out important interventions for the consolidation and upgrading of the areas facing the two waterfronts (one east of the historic center and the other west) and the reclamation of Lama Castello (near the site where the former Acciaierie e Ferriere Pugliesi were founded), focused its attention on urban regeneration as an operational methodology for urban development of the territory also understood as social and economic development of the city. The interventions for the restoration and upgrading of the Villa Comunale and the Valorization of the compless of the Monastery of the Agostiniani (House of Cultures), fall within this logic.
