The brownfield known as Ex AMCM is an area owned by the City of Modena close to the city centre, which was the seat of the public company for the production of energy, active until the ’80s.
The area is enriched by the presence of some interesting examples of industrial archeology, partially recovered for the settlement of: two new theaters of Emilia-Romagna Teatro Foundation; and one “Open Lab”, a collaborative space located in a building renovated with ERDF funding, equipped with ICT solutions and technologies where to develop services, activities, new business models and creative industries in the fields of culture, creativity and performing arts.
The specific guidelines for the recovery of the area are aimed at designing a new urban polarity as well as a new public centrality, strengthening the system of urban green and soft mobility routes, developing the physical connections with the neighborhood, promoting urban quality, sustainability and eco-environmental quality
