The existing building suffers from problems of energy efficiency, functional requalification of the apartments and architectural barriers to be eliminated.

The projected solution is based on an intervention that can be classified as building restructuration and consists of a new external ‘skin’ for the existing volumes that will include new bathrooms and toilets and loggias.

The building will be conserved with its actual wall structures and staircases, while internal partitions will be cleared.

The additional volumes have their own structures, consisting in septum carriers and piping to serve the new toilet spaces. In the existing buildings will be located an open space: room spaces may be separated by light partitions.
